J. J. Morse is regarded as one of Spiritualism’s finest trance mediums, he had little or no education. This volume brings together for the first time several documents either by Morse himself or the ‘Spirit Control’ Tien Sien Tie.

The major part of this collection is the book “Practical Occultism” (1888), in which the whole field of mediumship is surveyed through a series of trance lectures. His ’spirit control’ reveals a profound wisdom, not only in his analysis of mediumship and all its implications, but in his penetrating, spontaneous answers to questions.

In 1894, to celebrate 25 years of work for Spiritualism, Morse and his ‘Spirit Control’ were interviewed for ‘Light’ magazine. The interview was published as the book “A Spirit Interviewed.” It contains a fascinating insight into how Morse was not only chosen by Tien, but created to be his medium.

This new edition now includes two more lectures last published in 1912 and 1913.
